Shalom

Sing

My granddaughter loves to sing. Recently, I heard her sing ‘Shalom’. I thought the song would be the perfect tune to close-out our upcoming Ring4Peace celebration at Ascension Church in Vallejo, Ca. She patiently repeated the tune and lyrics (in English and Hebrew) as I attempted to commit them to memory.

Returning home from my visit I cherished our time together in her backyard. She was so gentle in her teaching and then would encourage me, “Now,sing it alone.”

Good-bye my friend. Be safe my friend. Shalom, shalom. ‘Til we meet again. ‘Til we meet again, shalom. Shalom.

The hills of Vallejo are alive with the sound of peace because one small voice took the time to share with another.
